Question: Ways to improve my writing!?

I enjoy writing stories and prose!.
I recently found a site called fictionpress, and I love it!.
The stories on there are really amazing and the community is flooded with inspirational writers!
I hope to improve my writing and maybe I can get some feedback on here for my latest (incomplete) story!?

You sure can get to the point, can't you!? But I have to say, work on narrating!. I doubt you talk like that!. also, your character is a little melodramatic!. Work on making her sound like a real person!. My last point is this: you, as a writer, need your own voice!. A different style of writing that makes your work unique!. Work on it, and you could have an interesting story on your hands!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you like to read then pick up a few books in the genre you enjoy reading!. Look carefully at the style of writing and the way the sentences are structured!. This is especially true to dialogue!.

Get a few books on writing in general, and especially one on dialogue!. I always perfer to get them from the bookstore because I could mark them up with yellow marker and mark the page numbers on the flap for further reference!. You can't do this with library books!.

work on your narrative -
you need to use actions to express the characters feelings instead of just stating them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

too dramatic when we're reading prose!. if you speak like that, then your characters shouldnt either!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
