Why do teen girls enjoy Twilight?

Question: Why do teen girls enjoy Twilight!?

I understand that there are pre-teen and teen girls out there who maybe haven't fully entered "the literary world" and the Twilight Series is a good introduction for them because its about romance!. But can someone tell me what on Earth is so popular about a vampire romance!?

Well K!.K!., I am a huge fan of the books and I would like to tell

you my opinion on this!. First of all, This book does and

excelent job in encorporating many different genres!. It has

adventure, magic of sorts, horror, violence, teen life, and

romance!. Two people could like two completely different

types of books and still both love this book!. The second is

that the pre-teen/teen point in girls lives is when girls really

become very, very interested in guys romantically and wish

that they could have a perfect boyfriend!. This book gives

them a fantasy world to live in in which perfect guys love

regular girls!. All girls want an two uber-romantic, mystical,

and devoted men in love with them!. They all want a boyfriend

who would kill himself if they died, would go to any lengths to

get them to kiss them (both happen in the Twilight series) :!.) !.

Most girls need to read about girls just like them having

happy endings in there love lives, because even if it is just a

book, it makes it seem more possible in there lives!. Plus, it

I know what you mean!. a vampire romance seems really corny and ridiculous!. i even thought that, but then i read the book!. the thing is you become completely in love with the main character, Edward (the vampire) who is described as this super sexy, ultimately awesome and totally perfect boy!. it's just impossible to not like him from the description Stephenie Meyer writes!. everything they go through is so romantic and their story is impossible to not fall in love with! you become Bella (main character who falls in love with Edward) and its almost as if you're living her story, its so life-like!. and of course every girl would love to be as lucky as her, because she's an ordinary, clumsy girl who wins the best boyfriend ever!. (plus the vampire thing turns out to be completely attractive in this book)

I am a teenager and i'm a huge fan of the Twilight books!. I think they are popular because:
1!.They are written so well
2!.The plot is so believable even though they obvoiusly couldn't happen
3!.Average teenagers can relate to the main characters

because they are the BEST books ever i love them,and because the love they have it's so sweet and the auther is so good at telling emotions i always feel what they feel,i have friends that hate reading and love the books!
no other book can beat them
plus i LOVE LOVE LOVE vampires sOoOoOoOoOo much!

Because Edward seems to be the perfect man!. He's just another Dracula-type controlling, violent vampire, hiding his true self!.

They're also fluffy and pointless!. Teen girl myself, I liked Dostoevsky better, and would rather conduct a reading of "The Eye of Argon" than subject myself to Twilight again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well personally, i like cuz it's not just a romance!. the story, general idea, and new take on vampires and warewolves i think is sooooo cool!. and they r soooooooooooooooooo excited, even when i reread them i can't put the book down, they r just so good @ keeping my attention (which is my problem w/ most books)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because it's an unbelievably easy read and doesn't require much brain power, and Edward is oh-so-perfect even though he's over-controlling and doesn't respect Bella's opinions as much as one should in a relationship--but that's okay, apparently!

Well, all double digit girls like it, because how it just sucks you in, and the "romance" between Edward and Bella, and how Jacob is SO annoying, that part just amazes me on how he is such a pig, how he just butts in to a perfect relationship!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I am one of those teen girls, meaning I can only give you my reasoning about the matter!. Let me just tell you something before I tell you my reasoning: I LOVE Harry Potter, always have always will!. It started my love of reading and i am obsessed!. Even my friends call(ed) me a freak!. I never thought anything would take up as much of my attention and love for something like that until I read Twilight!. Twilight opened up a whole new reading/literary area for me!. I have been reading romance novels for a long time, and I love fantasy/horror!. Twilight had a bit of fantasy and horror and A LOT of romance in the mix!. Stephenie Meyer has done an amazing job of portraying love in her first novel, and all the novels after!. Girls who are outsiders usually take comfort in various things like books!. Mostly books with romance, especially when they feel as if they need some more love in their life, even if it isn't real!. Twilight is sort of like Romeo and Juliet: it's not exactly a forbidden romance, but a dangerous one!. Edward, being a vampire, can harm Bella at any time, because Bella is a human!. He can snap her like a twig unintentionally!. But Edward loves Bella so much, that he wouldn't let anything go so far as to lead to that, no matter how much he wants to!. Girls also probably love Twilight because of the perfect way the author describes Edward- amazingly good looking/godlike, beautiful brown eyes, perfect complexity, SEXY, and more!. I can go on and on, but then I'd be writing a novel, so in that case, you should just read Twilight!. It's good for ages 11+!. There is a 9 out of 10 chance that you will like it!. The only reason I'm not 100% about this is because some odd people out in the world don't like it!.!.!. Hmmm!. Maybe we can put them in labs and see what's going on inside their heads!.!.!. i think it has hypnotic powers or something because it's so addicting and people can get so obsessed over it!. and i will not deny it and say i don't!. because i am! but it's just the fantasy and relationship and everything is just amazing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, coming from a teen's perspective, (I've read all three that are out), I don't really know! And it doesn't have a lot to do with vampires, I mean yes, they are vampires, but it isn't a cliched gory romance!. Bella and Edward (the main characters) fall in unconditional love and I think that's a fantasy that every teen girl (myself included) dreams about!. Bella would die for Edward and vice versa!. All elements of the teen experience are included within the series; love, fear, anger, jealousy, emptiness!. It's all there!. I think, for me at least, it's one of the few books that you can truly relate to the main character!. There are a lot of teen books out there that are too cliched and are too fast to be believable (not that supernatural vampires are believable!!!) Anyways, hope that helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because Edwards every girls perfect guy!. To us, he's the image of what a perfect boyfriend should be!. Quote:

I think it's because stephanie meyer worked really hard to make the perfect guy for girls!. She made him polite, sweet, gentle to the extreme, and caring!. Not to mention protective!. What's wrong with that!?
also, she leaves a bit of room for you to let your imagination fly!. You know!? Some room here for the looks, here for the accent, and a little room there for anything else you want!.

i just think that's it's the romance and the vampires because the writing isn't that good neither are the lessons and the morals

some teens think that edward is perfect when he really isn't!. he is old really old and very controlling at sometimes!. he draws bella in so much that she ignores her friends and pushes her goals!.
they want to be in love with a guy that seems perfect but really no guy is perfect!. maybe they will realize that when they are older or when they read more/better stuff

Well I am a teen girl, and I love twilight so I will tell you my opinion!.
Its a romance, without being classified as a romance!.
It's based on people our age!.
The vampire's make it a more exciting romance!.
And Bella (the main character) is someone that is very relateable!. She isn't gorgeous, she isn't famous, she isn't rich, she isn't perfect at anything, or in any way shape or form!. She is clumsy, can be slow, loses her temper, and can be very undecided!. And she has an even lower opinion of herself!. Most teen girls are VERY insecure!. She seems like someone I could meet tomorrow!. It's nice to read about someone so ordinary being involved in something extraordinary!.
And last, Edward Cullen is my generation's Romeo!. He's described as basically the msot beautiful boy that ever walked the earth!. He's smart and he's nice!. He's a mystery!. He fights so hard not to hurt Bella!. He's a fictional heart-throb!.
And maybe the fact that this near perfect being fell in love with someone so ordinary!.
It's a lot better than reading about perfect rich girls who almost don't get a date to prom!.
