Favorites: The Weasleys are great parents; always interesting, always interested!.

The parents in Laura Ingalls Wilder's books seemed 'neat' when I was a kid!.

The parents in books by E!. Nesbit and the "Half-Magic" series by Edward Eager also seemed good because, though in Nesbit's books parents often sent a kid 'to Coventry,' something exciting happened 'there' just as often!.!.!.

!.!.!.and in Eager's books, I think there is just a mother at first, then a new dad, but they're always 'out of the way' or there with supper and interesting things to say!.

Least favorite: any set of parents in "Borderliners" by Peter Hoeg!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My favourite parents, well, 'a parent' that is my favourite (though he is a stepfather-to-be):
Dexter Morgan from the 'Dexter' series by Jeff Lindsay!.

By day he is a blood-splatter analyst for the Miami Police Department; by night he is a serial killer whose 'Dark Passenger' drives him to commit killings and quite a few dismemberments!.
He basically gets rid of the bad guys and avenges others who have been harmed!. For each person he kills, he keeps a drop of their blood on a small glass slide from the lab!. Absolutely brilliant!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Parents in Enid Blyton books have got to be the best!. Peter and Janet's dad in Secret Seven always takes the kids seriously, and the mum is always at home letting the kids have cake and lemonade for their meetings in the shed at the bottom of the garden!. Or how about Jimmy's parents in Mr Galliano's Circus, who up-sticks and leave their home to live in a tatty old caravan with the circus folk!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Probably Mr and Mrs Brown in the William books, because they simply never understood him, and their responses were always predictable (which is just what you want when you are little and starting to read)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Bek Ohmsford and Rue Meridian from Terry Brooks, because they would give their lives for their son and won't let anything stop them from trying to save him!. also they have brought him (Pen) up able to defend himself very well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
