Question: Why doesn't lestat turn to stone like akasha!?

Im am a huge fan of the anne rice vampire chronicles but im puzzled, akasha turned to stone b/c of her no willingness to drink blood, so now that lestats been in that catonic state refusing to drink blood since memnoch why doesnt he turn, i am only reading merrick so i suppose that maybe he comes out of it in a later book but does it make senseWww@QuestionHome@Com

Akasha didn't turn to stone ONLY because of her unwillingness to drink blood, but also because of her unwillingness to be a part of society any longer!. Lestat is fed up, he is confused - but he's connected to this world and can't find the strength to completely give it up, as Akasha did!.

I don't think it was covered in the books!.!. But, I'd assumed that Akasha turned to 'stone' after a long duration of time in the catatonic state!. Perhaps after eons have passed, Lestat would also turn to stone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
