It is a very long book, more than one thousand pages, but it is far from boring, obviously, having been a best seller as well as one of the highest grossing movies of all times!. However, it is far from a "happily ever after" fairy tale or romance novel!. It is a Civil War story set in the South; therefore, much tragedy infuses the book!. It is well worth reading, and if "someone in your family wrote it" (namely, Margaret Mitchell), you should certainly read it if only so that you may discuss it intelligently!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It really depends on your taste!. I didn't find it boring at all!. Even if you find parts of it boring, parts of it definitely aren't!. I would definitely read it because it is very good and shows both the civil war and southern culture in a different light!. It will make you think!. No no no no no no no no!. Gone with the wind is one of my favorite books of all time!. I couldn't put it down from start to finish!. It's great, one of the best american novels ever written!. When you read it you fall in love with and root for all the characters, and you can just feel all the pain like it's your own!. Please read it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's one of those books you HAVE to read at least once in your lifetime!. It does have parts other people may consider "boring," but give it a try! If you find yourself not liking it after a while, then stop!. At least you put in the effort to check it out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
