That's not true!. I may be 14, but I have read "real" literature!. I love the Lord of the Rings books, Little Women, Little Men, and other things like that!.
And not all fans are 14 year olds!. My 20 sister loves this series, also!.

Personally, I love the romance!. It's so sweet, and sure it might be unrealistic, but if we wanted realistic, we wouldn't be reading fantasy, now would we!? I think Bella and Edward do have a lot of character!. The reason that Edward first paid attention to Bella was that she smelled good, and then he fell in love with her personality!. You have to admit that she is brave!. Whenever someone's tracking her or something she's worried about Charlie and the Cullens!.

Sorry about the ranting, but I'm sick of people stereo-typing Twilight fans!. We are definitely NOT all air-heads!. We just happen to like a little romance and humor with a little bit of the supernatural thrown in!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The books are poorly written!. Real love doesn't work that way-people don't go around gushing their feelings like that!. However, the people who like Twilight usually don't know much about English literature/plotlines/psychology in general!.

also, Edward falling in love with Bella is too unrealistic!. She's short, poor, average-looking, and a klutz, so how are we supposed to believe that someone with god-like powers could immediately zero in on her!?

The characters are flat and one-dimensional!. There's no character growth!. At all!.

also, Edward alternates between being this dark tough guy and being a total and complete sap!. He's like "I'm going to whip some *** and not bat an eye" one second, and "Oh Bella, I'm so embarassingly and totally in obsessive love with you, let me whisper sweet, borderline creepy nothings in your ear" the next!.

Fine!. I hate Twilight, and here's why!.

Twilight is cliched!. I've seen books with the EXACT SAME storyline!.

Twilight has no characters that seem like real people!. No one seems real!. Period!.

Stephenie Meyer's writing style is among the worst I've ever seen!. It is repelling!.

The series lacks substance!. There are no messages!. And it is filled with useless description!. I could write the whole series in less than 50,000 words!.

The book, in my opinion, is anti-feminist!.

There are more reasons, but those are the ones I'm writing for today!.

I love reading!. I'm a fourteen year old girl who definitely appreciates all sorts of literature!. I swoon over fictional characters and really get into a story!.

Twilight is badly written!. Stephenie Meyer's sentence structure and story flow is extremely sloppy!. Her human characters are entirely one-dimensional!. Bella, Angela, Jess, and Mike have been plucked from dozens of generic poorly written teenage sitcoms, they're so generic it's pathetic!. The vampires are actually kind of interesting!. However, Meyer has no outline for their actions!. She makes Edward do whatever would be cheesy and "sexshy!." He doesn't have a character basis, nothing that makes him interesting!. He's just there for chaste sex appeal!. Without him, the series is nothing!. A good book has so many elements that without one, it would still hold up!. Twilight would fall apart into a pathetic ball of yarn if you took away Edward, and that's only one of the reasons it's so bad!.

I just don't think that they can make a connection in any way!. Or maybe some of the themes are too difficult for them to understand, either way they just don't like it!. I am in love with the series, but I can understand why some people may not like it!. Really!? I'm a 23 year old, VERY well educated person who has read many other books besides Twilight in all different genres!. And I find Twilight very well written and extremely captivating!. Anyone my age who I have recommended the book to has felt the same!. It all depends on your personal preference!. Not everyone likes the gushy romance novels and that's exactly what Twilight is!. Just because Bella and Edward have a irrational relationship that could never happen in real life, that makes it a bad book!? That's why it's FICTION!. It's nice to be able to lose yourself in a fantasy!. Sure, Bella can be annoying and sure, Edward can be overly sappy, but in my opinion, that's what makes them the opposite of one dimensional!. If a character irritates you to the point where you say, "Wow, she's annoying," or "Wow, he's creepy/sappy/overemotional," then that character is well written enough to evoke a respose out of you, positive or negative!.

All in all, just because YOU don't like it, that doesn't make it a bad book!. I don't think the Twilight series would have sold as many copies as it did or wouldn't have knocked Harry Potter off the number one spot if it was "poorly written" or "one dimensional!." it depends on the person but some people dont like it because to them it seems unreal, either they dont like fairly tales or it brings up bad experinces they had!. some people only see the fantasy in it but benethe the whole fantasy plot is a real story about to people from two different worlds the vampires and humans who dont co-exist and two people who are trying to bend that rule, so people who dont like twilight i suggest you give it another chance and see it from a different point of veiw not the fantasy one but the realism in them i mean bella faces things that all girls face i mean crushes and the dicesion she hadto choose between edward and jacob theres more realism than you thinkWww@QuestionHome@Com

Some people say her writing style is sappy!. (I say, it may be overdramatic, but it's intense and pulls people in)!. Some say that Bella is a weak heroine!. (There are many different ways to be strong!. In my opinion, Bella can be annoying, but she tries her best to be a good person and help those she loves!.) Some complain Edward is one dimensional and sappy and has no flaws!. (He has plenty of them! He overreacts and he's kind of arrogant!.) I could go on and on, but others have already said it!. Because it's boring!. The whole damn book is just about Edward and Bella's love for each other!. Even the action is basically about their love!. All the characters, except for Jacob Black maybe, are one dimensional!. The only reason people love these books is because they love Edward, and in my opinion, Edward is dull!. Bella is even duller than Edward!. I like people that have a personality and don't need other people to survive!. Edward's life revolves around Bella and her life revolves around Edward, and in my opinion, that is pathetic and makes me want to throw up!. Bella and Edward need to get lives outside of each other!. If you ask me it is people who have no imagination and think that because edward is god-like he would never fall for someone like bella, but thats not true, edward is different he doesn't look for a girl who is beautiful and perfect!. he has his own mind!. and most boys don't like it because it is either nerdy or un-cool!. they don't ever even give it a chance!. Because it's just another stupid teenage obsession!. It makes me sick to see another teenage girl obsess over how hot Edward Cullen is!. It is incredibly annoying!. You are limiting your mind by making it such a huge part of your life, think of all the things you could be learning that could be making you smarter!. I also feel that to many people read it just because it's popular!. And that is just what it is, a popular fad!. A few years from now, I'm sure a lot of people will look back on it and regard it as stupid!. That's what I think, I hope it helps!.

wow!. So I read what some of the people wrote, and quite frankly I laughed so hard I nearly fell off my chair!. Alrighty, so here's one thing!.!.!.Stephenie Meyer has an amazingly effective book, consisting of incredibly well put together sentence structure!. She, also, is a character writter!. Her characters are the focal point in the book!. They are what make up the story, the plot line merely works it's self around the charcters, not vise versa!. She's also graduated from university with a degree in English literature, and has three, soon four, best selling books with fans across the world!.!.!.not to mention a movie comming out and the book is barley over two years old!. So!.!.!.unless you've got this beat!.!.!.you can't really say much that's of any concern!. I mean, she's rich, famous, creative and happy!. She doesn't care what a few bitter people think!.
Edward has lived for over 90 years!. Okay!? I'm pretty sure you'd have mood swings and get attached easily if you'd had that much time to be alone and grow wiser!. He's also attracted to Bella because he can't hear her thoughts, and he's drawn to her blood!. She's the only person he's encountered that has this effect on him!. It facinates him!. Bella is also an incredible human being, she is a good person!. beautiful inside and out!. And she has a beautiful immortal in love with her!. That tells you something!.
The reason the characters are generic, is because Meyer used an important and effective writting technique!. it's called making the characters believable, so that anyone can relate to them!. She keeps their unique attributes minimal so that anyone can relate to the characters!. She's smart enough to know that when your reading about how a character is feeling- let's say Bella- you can feel what she's feeling, because the writing is so effective!. The love between Bella and Edward is so out of this world, that most people who love to think they no it all, call it unbelievable!. But I can almost gaurentee that they have never been in love, and have no idea what it's like!. It must be hard enough being in love with a human, let alone a Vampire!. It IS a FICTIONAL novel!. FICTIONAL!. So I really think people over react when they complain about something like that never happening!. Well OF COURSE!.!.!.it's FICTIONAL!. also, the point of Edward's appearance being mentioned so much, is so that people will get hooked on him!.!.!.and I've seen girls cry over look alikes!.!.!.so I'm thinking Meyer's exceptional wirtting skills did it's job:)
Edward has flaws, Bella has attributes and triats that any female would!. It's simply building way and helping understand what true love can be like!. What's funny is people complain about Bella being weak and being a bad female roll model!. But she's brave, strong, Intelligent, courageous, loving, caring, and can be funny as well!. You can't tell me that that's a bad roll model!. Even though she get's a bit off course in the other books, it's showing her growth, and everyone has to grow!. If people really didn't like it!.!.!.then why would they have to sit there and remember every part of the book, just to complain about it!. Honestly!. So until you know what falling in love with a Vamoire is like, I suggest you keep your oppinion to yourself; because no one really know's Stephenie Meyer is simply sharing her talents, so we can enjoy them!.
