OMG i just told someone else to read this!

i just read City of Bones and City of Ashes (Mortal Instruments series) by Cassandra Clare and they were AMAZING! it's science fiction, with religion, and with a love story in it too!.!.!.i REALLY want the third book now

here's a synopsis of City of Bones:

Their hidden world is about to be revealed!.!.!.!.

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons!. Clary knows she should call the police, but it's hard to explain a murder when the body disappears into thin air and the murderers are invisible to everyone but Clary!.

Equally startled by her ability to see them, the murderers explain themselves as Shadowhunters: a secret tribe of warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons!. Within twenty-four hours, Clary's mother disappears and Clary herself is almost killed by a grotesque demon!. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother!? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight!? The Shadowhunters would like to know!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

May I humbly suggest something long and an adventure [but not part of a series] that I loved as a teen- Oliver Twist!. It is way darker and different than the musical which I still love also!. also give Sherlock Holmes or O!. Henry or Poe [ Poe being the supernatural type] if you haven't already!. Older doesn't mean bad as you know from the Narnia stories!. Just wanted to suggest some alternatives you might like!.P!.S!. I also read & liked contemporary books at your age!. Enjoy your summer reading!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Team EDWARD!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Sword of Truth series, by Terry Goodkind, is one of my favorite series!. It's like Harry Potter for a much, much, MUCH, more mature audience!. Basic plot is that a regular guy finds out that he has magical abilities and has to save the world!. I swear it's not as cheesy as it sounds!. You should read the books the order that they were written, to understand them because there are a lot of them, and most of them are 500 + pages, so they cover a lot of material!. The order of the books, with my personal comments are:

Prequel- Debt of Bones (Very short, not necessary to read)
1!. Wizard's First Rule (Perfect first book)
2!. Stone of Tears (My favorite)
3!. Blood of the Fold (Not the best, but not bad)
4!. Temple of the Winds (Really good)
5!. Soul of the Fire (Ok, good but not great)
6!. Faith of the Fallen (My 2nd favorite)
7!. Pillars of Creation (Disappointing!. Completey new characters made it confusing)
8!. Naked Empire (Better than 7, but it was extremely long!. 800+ pages)
9!. Chainfire (Much better than 7 and 8)
10!. Phantom (One of my favorites)
11!. Confessor (Generally good, one of the major plotlines was left unanswered, which was dissapointing)

last thing- I own all of these, and I've read the whole series 8 times!. Honestly, it's long, but it's completely worth it!. If you like Harry Potter, and you're looking for something a bit more mature, it's the way to go!. It IS more mature though!. Most of the books deal with sex, war, rape, betrayal, and torture, so if you don't want to read about that stuff, don't!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Uglies Trilogy by Scott Westerfeld
http://www!.scottwesterfeld!.com/books/ugl!.!.!.

Dragon Riders of Pern by Anne Mcaffery
http://www!.iblist!.com/series130!.htm!.!.!.
Anne Mcaffery is one of those authors whose books just leave you feeling good once you read the last page!. While a combination of Sci-fi and Fantasy (the argument continues about which one it is) they sit on my fantasy shelf!. Anyone who has ever dreamed of riding a dragon should read these!.

Xanth Series by Piers Anthony
http://www!.amazon!.com/xanth-nbsp-series/!.!.!.
Fun series full of fantastic creatures, a unique world and a magic system based on puns!. Yes I said puns! These are a light read and funny as heck (by the rules of the Adult Conspiracy if I say the other word really bad things will happen!.)

Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey
http://www!.mercedeslackey!.com/biblio_ser!.!.!.
This is a large collection and every book in it is excellent!. The concept of being *chosen* by a companion, which is essentially a telepathic horse with amazing powers, is delightful!. Once chosen you become one of the elite heralds, protectors of the realm!. Start with Arrows of the Queen!.
