It had a great deal of relevance when I read it in 1980 and it has even more now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

After I read the last sentence--"He loved Big Brother"--this is an exact account of what I did (I was home sick, and had been reading it nonstop for two hours):

Blinked, stared at the page for a few moments!.

Said "What!?" somewhat shrilly!.

Closed the book forlornly!.

Muttered "I need Princess Mia" and ran upstairs to my Princess Diaries collection!.

When I went back to school the next day!.!.!.

Made several 1984 references relating to my drama teacher and/or the school administration, none of which my friends understood!.

Explained the references to my friends!.

Started several plots against the school administration, none of which came to fruitition!. Stupid panopticon!.

I read it in high school years ago!. It was okay!. Very depressing!. I think it is a book everybody should read once just so they understand how important free will and personal choices are!.

First time I read it, I found it boring!. This was mostly because I was forced to read it for school!. A couple years ago, in college, I read it because I wanted to and found it to be a well written book that was interesting and engaging!. Very applicable to modern day USA as a warning of things to come if we continue to let political cronies run things the way Bush and Co!. has!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
