I am looking for Jan Harold Brunvand's "The Boyfriends Death" online!. I have a quiz for my online English Comp 2 class, and my books have yet to arrive!. Can someone refer me to a free website where I can read this short story!? I am having no luck finding it via google!.

Depends on which retelling you are looking for!. It shows up in more than one of Brunvand's books as I recall-- it's a popular urban legend!. However if you go to www!.amazon!.com and pull up his book "Too Good to be True" it will have a "search inside" feature!. Put in "Hook" and one of the references will be page 104!. This has the last part of the tale!. Click on the left arrow to get to page 103 and read the first part!. This is a brief retelling but it is Brunvard's!. You can find variants all over the net!. Check out www!.snopes!.com for several!.

Brunvand died not too long ago so his books will still be under copyright and hence shouldn't be easily available on the net-- at least not legally without permission of his estate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
