I think unrealistic expectations of men is how characters like Edward and Jacob were created!. I'm sure that Stephenie Meyer's husband is great, and that's the standard for her male characters!. I personally have never met any guy like that who didn't have ulterior motives, and I'm happily married to a man I love very much and who acts nothing like any of the men in the Twilight series!. After reading it though, yes, I did have slightly unrealistic expectations of him for a short time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

after reading the other responses, i feel that i need to say this!.

i like the fact that he is trying to do good in the world, even though he was delt a devilish hand in "life" and that to me is hundred times more hot!.!.

when i read that chapter about why he wanted to be a better person, that he didnt want to be a monster, i literally cried!.

Honestly, I've never found myself as enamoured of Edward as any of my other friends!. Maybe it's because my boyfriend is amazing =D, or maybe it's just because I'm a very pessimistic and down to earth person sometimes!. I see that there is a divide between fiction and non-fiction, and when a character is far too perfect to be anywhere near reality, I find myself more annoyed than anything!. It's hard to describe!. Sure, Edward doesn't always say or do the perfect thing but he still seems!.!.!.!.a little too far off, and not just because he's a vampire!. =D

I know!.!.!.that made no sense!. The books are great, the characters are wonderful, but I don't expect anyone to be like that and honestly, now that I think further into it, I don't think it would be as great as it may seem to be in love with someone like Edward!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

While reading Eclipse Everything about Edward reminds me of something my boyfriend has done or would do!

Not so much!. The one thing that I kept thinking about while I was reading the Twilight books is my own husband!. I felt the books described our relationship perfectly!. Aside from not being a vampire he is truley my Edward and I am his Bella!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
