I agree that you shouldn't read Twilight!.

The series is most definitely aimed at younger girls complete with pretty boys for them to fantasize and gush over!. It also mostly about the romance of the vampire myth with very little plot or storyline to it!.

If you're looking for something that has nothing geared towards someone who enjoys Harry Potter, Narnia and Series of Unfortunate Events, stay far away from Twilight!.

Here are some books that I have read that you would probably enjoy!.

1!. His Dark Materials Trilogy, Philip Pullman
2!. The Dark Rider Series
3!. The Shannara Series, Terry Brooks
4!. The Fogotten Realms: (tons of books in this series)
but I really recommend these two!.
The Avatar Trilogy
The Priests Series
5!. The Riftwar Series, Raymond E!. Feist

These should get you off to a good start!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you like action you should try the Alex Rider series!. The first few books are good but after a while they get pretty repetitive!. Twilight is romantic and gushy and I HATED it, but lots of people seem to like it!. If you want something pretty thick try Lord of the Rings!. You mentioned a couple fantasy, if you like that read Eragon!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Based on your question, I highly recommend that you read the book Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss!.

Read that first, then I second the recommendation of The Scarlet Letter!. It's definitely not boring, unless you call scandals and crazy intertwining of fates, gorgeous imagery, and unparalleled symbolism boring!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Death Note!.!.!.it's a manga, but absolutely amazing!. There's also an anime!. I don't know if you're one of those people who think manga is for losers, but really, if you are, give it a chance, it'll blow you away!.

You can get the manga chapters online as well as watch the anime online or you can buy them from the store!. They also play it on adult swim at like 12 or something!.!.!.

Anyways, it's about this college student name Light Yagami who finds a notebook on the ground called the Death Note!. Inside it are a list of rules that say how if you write someone's name in the book they'll die!. They kid starts to get power hungry and decides to rid the world of all criminals, create a new uptopia, and be the God of that world!. The story goes on about the various groups trying to find out who is behind all of the killings!.

*Blood, death, mystery, just overall one of the best plots you'll ever find!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some good books that are about the lives of boys would be the ones by the author S!.E!. Hinton!. (a teen writer)

The Outsiders

That Was Then, This Is Now

Rumble Fish

Tex

These are basically about hard times, troubled teens, being there for each other, brotherhood!. Look them up in amazon and read the reviews -- they are well loved!.

Snoop around Amazon!.com's "Listmania" -- here is a search I did for Teen guys," so go check out this list someone made:

http://www!.amazon!.com/Teen-nbsp-Books-nb!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should check out the book, The Looking Glass Wars, by Frank Beddor!.!.!. it's a version of Alice in Wonderland but def more violent!. It is also a trilogy but only two have come out, the second book is called Seeing Redd!.

I would suggest looking online!. I like the Alex Rider books, and the book, Guys Read!. The first one is a long series, so that should keep you busy for a while!. And the other book is a collection of short stories!.

And Twilight is not a 'chic' book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Okay let's see, I've read these they're pretty good, Alex Rider, the Percy Jackson Series, Skullduggery Pleasant, and i really recommend all of them they're really good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm in the same situation!. I'm a 15 year old boy and have already read those series too!. I'm not gonna read Twilight though cause it seems overrated and like a chic book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
