I would not be insulted!.!.!. unless she walked up to me and said, "You suck!." or something!. That would be insulting!. But no I would probably just be very jealous and go on for days not admitting to myself that she is better!. Then I'd calm down a bit and be happy for her and try to push her to develop her gift!. At 13 years old, no matter how good of a writer you are, you can get a LOT better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not quite a writer yet, but I kind of want to be someday, I'm still a little too young!. Yes, I think I'd be somewhat insulted, but more just discouraged!. I'd try to write better and try harder!. She's just a very very talented writer!. As long as she doesn't act like she's better than everyone else in the class, I think it's just fine that she's good!. Actually, I take back what I said about being insulted, I'd be more surprised and astonished!. There are many talented writers in the world, and she just happens to be one of them!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Absolutely not!. I'd be very impressed!.

The whole object of higher learning is to create a learning base that would help all of you express yourselves down the road!.

I was terrible in sentence structure in high school!. Diagramming sentences was a nightmare!. We had a super intelligent English teacher in college who could motivate a stone!. Topics like: Extemporaneous speaking of objects pulled from a brown paper bag, bullet righting, creative righting from each of our perceptions of short stories or movies etc!.

I always thought notes during classes were more important than book learning!. I felt I had to satisfy the Dr's or professor's (personality) questions first then info!. from the hard covered books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Writing is something that shouldn't be competitive!. You should be happy for the 13 year-old girl and encourage her!.

Who knows, she may grow up to be a famous writer and attribute her motivation back to you!

You should also be comfortable with your own writing skills and passion!.

Passion has no equal!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would most likely feel a little down heartened and then the writing beast within me would tell me to shut up, suck it, and write better than the little weasel!.

(That's not to say I dislike her personally, just her abilities!.)

But then again, I'm only 16, so it's not as bad, I suppose, for me as it would be for someone in college!.

I hope that this has helped!!

I've been impressed by people younger and older than me!.

Sometimes the 13 year old could be a prodigy, or could have a strong specialisation - which isn't the same as yours!.

There are areas are 13 year old has yet to experience!.!.!.

Maybe she can also teach you somethings too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only if I were insecure about my own writing abilities!. Use her talents (and your own) as motivation to keep moving forward!. The world is full of talented people of all ages!. You have to accept this, and work towards honing your own voice and skill as a writer!. Good luck with your endeavors!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Somewhat!.!.!. I'm extremely competitive, so if I wasn't the best in the class, I'd be really upset about it!. But, there isn't any point!. If you are insulted, just think about how cool it'd be if she got a book published! You could tell people that you took classes with her! It would make you seem like a better writer!

Good luck, and tell her congrats for me! ;)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Umm no because I am thirteen and have attented a creative writing class with people a lot older than me!. I don't think people should be insulted, because I mean, if the girl writes just as good, then what's the problem!?
