Question: George Orwell's 1984 Emmanuel Goldstein refers to emma goldman!?!?
While reading 1984 i noticed that emmanuel goldstein and emma goldmans name are pretty similar i dont know if the author did this on purpose for any symbolism

good catch there!.

goldman and goldstein are both jewish names however Orwell was known to rally for Jewish rights!. Maybe he was trying to say that the jews are the best option to fight against a repressive government!? That might make sense as Jewish people kind of stay tight knit, and have fougth against oppression throughout history!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
