Question: Why is Breaking Dawn from the Twilight Series classified as an adult novel!?
Why do you think that Breaking Dawn is classified as an 'adult' novel when all the other books in the series are 'young adult'!? I mean, I know there might be some more 'intimate' scenes in there, but i heard somewhere that it's only being classified as adult because Edward & Bella are gonna be married in it, so that automatically makes it more 'mature'!.
I'm just asking because if there are some really 'intimate' scenes in there, then I'm not gonna be allowed to read it, and if that happens it would SUCK!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not an adult book!. It's still young adult!. Go to barnesandnoble!.com and type in Breaking Dawn!. It says that it ranges from ages 12 and up!. The book is till young adult, where did you hear that it was an adult book!?

You read it wrong! It's saying that this is big year for Stephenie Meyer because she released her first adult novel and the Twilight movie will be coming out!. Her adult novel is The Host, not Breaking Dawn!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Anyway, Breaking Dawn will have a few 'intimate' scenes!. I mean, all of the Twilight books do, but they're very chaste-intimate!. Like nothing more than hugging, occasional kissing that is always cut off short because otherwise Bella wouldn't be able to breathe, etc!. :) But Breaking Dawn will have intimate scenes because 1) Edward and Bella are getting married, yay! :P 2) Do you remember Bella's condition for Edward!? He has to make love to her (or at least try to) before she becomes a vampire, after they get married!. Maybe that's why it was classified as an adult book!? But I don't understand!.!.!. I mean a lot of teen books nowadays have scenes like that, but they're still considered YA!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
stephenie meyer explained in an interview that she wasnt going to put explicit scenes like that in her book because she knows she has a young adult audience and she lets her kids read it!. It would be very vague not going into like details and such!. so im not really sure why it wouldnt be!. i guess were just gonna have to wait and find out :]Www@QuestionHome@Com
