Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
"The Old Man in the Sea" by Ernest Hemmingway is pretty thin and not too hard!. Your teacher will be impressed with this choice!. If you have a heart, you will be moved by the relationship of the main characters -- a fisherman and a boy!.

"The Bad Place" by Dean Koontz is a cool detective/science-fiction that involves a killer with powers!. Not hard at all, and you will want to keep reading to find out what happens!.

"Catcher in the Rye" is about a college guy who has a hard time with what he wants out of life and he observers how everyone is a hypocrite!. Not hard at all, and another selection that would impress your teacher!. One of my favorite books!.

My husband loves the "Area 51" series of books!.

If you like fantasy and a very easy read (although not for kids), look for "Ariel - book of change" which is out of print, but available on amazon!.com and maybe at a library!.
http://www!.amazon!.com/Ariel-Book-Change-!.!.!.

Try S!.E!. Hinton books, which were written by a teenage author!. Such titles as "Rumble Fish," "The Outsiders," "That was Then, This is Now!." (Mostly about teens in trouble, teens in gangs" VERY EASY READ, but highly loved and respected book titles!.

(also, for fiction, have you tried the Chronicles of Narnia and the Harry Potter books!?)

Snoop around Amazon!.com's "Listmania" -- here is a search I did for Teen guys," so go check out this list someone made:

As for nonfiction, pick a subject that you like!. Something you're interested in!. Go to barnes and Nobles NON-FICTION AREA and just browse the subjects!. It's hard to recommend a title if I don't know what you are interested in!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

One nonfiction would be any of Jon Krakauer books, like Into the Wild or something like Into Think Air about climbing the mountain!. Stephen King's Green Mile, the Body and Shawshank Redemption are all spell binding and fictitious!. Barbara Kingsolver's Pigs in Heaven, Bean Trees and others draw you in!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
