I've read the 3 books before anyone says "read them and see" and think they're okay and I plan to read breaking dawn and probably midnight sun!. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I dont get the big deal either!. I dont like the books!. I actually have a friend who is OBSESSED with the books just like you said!. She kept comparing her boyfriend to Emmett and it actually ended up being one of the contributing factors to their breakup, which has sent her life into a downward spiral!. She now compare all guys to the two characters and is therefore unhappy with everybody!. Geez!. Its the most ridiculous thing Ive ever heard of!.Www@QuestionHome@Com the big deal is just that: a big deal!. there's so much hype surrounding the story!. but i'm not sure that it's not deserved!. i love the series, i think meyer did a great job making characters real and relatable, she's a fantastic author, no doubt!. i'm not going to marry edward cullen [rob pattinson, however, is a different story :)] but i do love the books!. and bekki, there are lots of big words that sit well outside the normal vocabulary of your average teen aged girl!. that's another contributing factor to the books immense popularity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Well, it's an easy read for teenage girls!. They don't have to do much deep thinking or analyzing, and there's no "big words"!. Twilight is a popcorn book: you read it, enjoy it, and never think about it again!. It's not one of those books that people hand down to their children and say "this book changed my life" or "this book helped me through a lot of stuff"!. It's just, well, an okay book!. And the thing I find funny is the fact that even though Stephanie Meyer has said SEVERAL TIMES that she won't break up Edward and Bella again, fangirls who have fallen in love with Jacob Black continue to state that Bella will fall in love with Jacob!. Stepehenie meyer wrote as this impossibly perfect character so girls cant help but fall in love with him!. He is their essential dream guy!. I was in love with Edward because I saw him as the guy that I was in love with in real life!. I dunno, Im a guy and I love the series!. I guess I can understand how girls can be overly ecstatic at the thought of being "with" such a person as Edward, and especially with the lure of vampires!. Twilight's a great book, and every body enjoys to read different genres of literature, So what ever category Twilight is labeled under, let people read it and obsess if they wanna, ridiculous or not!. I mean, seriously, he's just a fictional character and plus he's already taken!
