i am going to 8th grade; please
don't name the Harry Potter
series, i've read them all, and i've read
Inkheart and Inkspell, and Eragon,
but i'm sick of the fantasy crap;
so give me something more crime and mystery
book;
its a 14 hour flight to Italy people!.
my iPod battery won't hold up that long

As for mystery, I like the Cat Who series by Lillian Jackson Braun, It's about a news reporter who gets a "psycic" cat and solves murders that always seem to happen around him!. No the cat does not speak or use telepathy, just knocks over a book, "yow"s when something is mentioned and pushes stuff around to make his owner, Qwill (James Mackentosh Qwilleren) see his point!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is more of a girl's series but it's really good mystery and crime: The Blue is for Nightmares collection!.
Otherwise, if you're looking for more of a guy's read there's a book called School Days which is good too!.
