Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: All books are different!. Some have up to fifty, some don't have chapters at all!. Do whatever's right for your story!. Most importantly, get the length right!. An adult novel should be 80,000 to 120,000 words!. The word count and (above all) the quality of the storytelling are far more important than how you break it into chapters!.
