Question: Twilight!? (the book)!?
Hi! Thanks for answering my question!. Ok so I'm reading Twilight right now and Im really confused!. If you have the book, go to page 288!. Ok so I don't understand when Edward is saying how he got saved by Carlisle- who is that!? and then he talks about Esme finding someone else, and i dont know who all of these people are!. can u explain who Carlisle and Esme are, and who Edward's family is, and please explain how he's saying how his family was saved and then they found someone on a cliff or something!. Sorry if my question is confusing!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It will all be explained later on in the book, I promise! But just to help you out a little, Carlisle is who changed Edward into a vampire because he was dying from the Spanish Influenza!. And Esme is Carlisle's wife!. They, along with with Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, and Alice, act as a family, even though they aren't at all related!. That is Edward's "family," however we don't know much about his real family except that his mother's name was Elizabeth!.
Edward was dying and his real mother (Elizabeth) was begging Carlisle to do whatever he could to save him!. So, Carlisle took Edward back to his house and changed him into a vampire to save him!.
Edward's "siblings" are Alice, Rosalie, Emmett, and Jasper!. However, they aren't really related!. They just say that they are to blend in!. The story is that Carlisle adopted all of them!.

It's ok :D Carlisle (pronounced Car-lyle) is the father figure of the Cullen family, and a doctor!. They're not really a "family" really, but a coven!. Carlisle "saved" Edward because Edward was dying of the Spanish Influenza!. He took him in and treated him sort of like a son!. Later, he found Esme, who had jumped off a cliff because her newborn son had died!. She was still barely alive, and he changed her!. They fell in love and married!. She's the mother figure of the "family"!. As the years went on, Carlisle eventually found Rosalie, who was also dying and saved her!. She found Emmet who had been attacked by a bear and brought him back to Carlisle to change him because he was dying!.
Alice, Rosalie, Jasper, Emmett, and Edward are sort of like the children of Esme and Carlisle because they take care of them and help them with their "dietary habits"!.

Carlisle is a doctor, who was made into a vampire when he found one in a gutter or something, and he came out and attacked all these people, and bit him, but did not kill him only because he was distracted by all the others screaming and running away!. Carlisle managed to crawl to safety, and realized what he'd become!. Esme!.!.hm!. IDK about her!. lol
Edward--both Edward and his mother became critically ill, and on his mother was dying, Carlisle was talking to her I guess, and she told him to do for Edward what other people couldn't do, so Carlisle saved Edward by making him into a vampire!. I guess vampires can't fall sick, so that's why he did it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Edward's "fake" bothers and sisters are Alice, Jasper, Emmet, and Rosalie!. They're not related though (You're going to hear their stories later on in the book also)
