Question: What is the best way to write a story on the computer are on paper!?

"The question I’m asked more than any other is whether I write longhand or on the computer!. The answer!? Both!.

"I wrote The MoonQuest’s first two drafts with pen and paper, but not because it was an objectively superior method!. I wrote The MoonQuest by hand because I associated typing with too many years of freelance writing
assignments, of expressing other people’s ideas to the pressure of other people’s deadlines!.

"Writing longhand helped me break old patterns and freed me to create in new ways!. The heart-hand-paper connection is a powerful one and it supported my process!.

"My routine was to write longhand in the morning and input the day’s writing in the evening, being careful to make no changes as I typed!. If the temptation to edit was overpowering, I placed the desired change in square
brackets so as not to lose the original — a good thing, as I returned to the original at least half the time!.

"By the time I composed this book, I had erased enough old conditioning to be able to move easily between pen and keyboard, writing longhand in the car and on the computer at home!.

"As I write The StarQuest, sequel to The MoonQuest, I’m largely on the computer — unless I’m feeling stuck, when I return to pen and ink and the potent union of heart, hand and paper!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

I write on the computer, but I have a disability that requires it!. Otherwise, I think I'd still write on the computer!. I can type faster than I can handwrite, and when I am working on multi-chapter things, I can move the chapters around willy-nilly, make corrections, add, or subtract, and save multiple versions of the same document if I have two ways of going about the scene!.

That said, there is something for the tactile experience of writing on paper--I wish I could do it more--and it is certainly much more convenient than a laptop, so it's not _entirely_ a loss to write on paper!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I get distracted a lot when I try to write on the computer and I just end up on youtube or something!. So what I usually do is write it on paper first then go back to typing it up!. Using the computer is so much easier to write a story because you can always go back and delete something instead of having to keep crossing mistakes out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I wrote better in notebooks!. For my first draft, I hand wrote everything!. I found my creativity flew much farther and faster when I was not as free to correct mistakes in spelling the first run thru!.

For me, when I worried that my spell checker or grammar checker was highlighting a mistake, I feel the need to fix it right away, which makes me loose my train of thought!.

When I was hand writing, I just zipped along, content to make mistakes and correct them in my second or third draft (and don't kid yourself, you need those drafts)

My second and third drafts are on the computer!. At this point it is much easier to EDIT on the computer!. That's when I want to see the mistakes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Computer for sure u can make it more neat and correct it if u made a mistake but if u wanna do it the ol fashioned way do it by hand but i reckon computer for sureWww@QuestionHome@Com

I personally like paper better, I can get my thoughts out faster wheras on a computer, I constantly use spellchecker and whatever else because it highlights it and it annoys me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The computer!. You can make changes easier, and many word processors have a template for novel writing so that you waste as little space as possible!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would say on the computer!. For me, ideas come to me quicker than writing on paper!. Plus I type faster than I write, plus no need to erase or scratch out anything!. Typing seems the better choice of the two!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
