Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It's a very emotional book, both in what it reveals of a culture that is often misunderstood and ignored!. Stories and reports worldwide describe the woman's role in Afghanistan so easily and without emotion, but this story really brings it home!. I think that for a male author it is quite hard for them to capture a woman's emotions and thoughts, but Hosseini does this brilliantly!. Try reading 'The Kite Runner, also by Hosseini!.
