Leonardo last supper confusion?

Question: Leonardo last supper confusion!?

i was wondering how did Leonardo da Vinci’s know what the last supper looked like considering he was born after the last supper !?

or am i missing something !?
is there another paintings done at the time !?

leo used something called his imagination!. don't you think he'd be having a good laugh right now if he knew all the fuss his painting would cause!? inconceivable!! it was simply a picture painted on a church wall to decorate it, little did he know!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As I would hope you know after reading everyone else's answers, you do not need to experience--or be present--for something that occurred before your time to imagine it!. He simply used his imagination!. Without a doubt, it would be practical that he also did matters of research!. Around his time there was a 13th-15th century Bible!. He must have studied the section of the Bible that contained The Last Supper!. Although your imagination is limitless, it would be wise to collect prior research before painting an event that occurred before your time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
