Position:Home>Visual Arts> Artists? I need some advice.?Question: Artists!? I need some advice!.!? I am an artist, have been my whole life!. I am just curious on how do you find your "nitch" !.!. drawing, painting, what medium or graphic design, or pottery!. I don't feel veered toward just one thing!. I am going to school for graphic design, but i feel that i am good at all of it!. But I don't feel 100% confident toward any of it!. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: This one took me a very long time!. Like you I worked in many mediums, loved them all!. What finally clicked for me was realizing that I wanted to create art that honored my other love, for me it was (is) spirituality!. Now I still work in all the mediums I want as long as I can create mandalas with them!. It turns out I use acrylics, water colors, or colored pencils the most, but that's just me!. Ask yourself what your other passions are and let them guide you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com My whole life I've been drawing the same thing - animals - so I never had a problem finding a subject I liked to draw!. It was always just pencil sketches, but over the past 3-4 years, after I decided to take my art seriously, I've tried several media - pastels, ink, Photoshop, colored pencil, even woodburning!. Then about a year ago I found charcoal!. I just love it and I'm really good at it!. It just kind of fell into place!. It's my favorite medium now!. My advice is keep experimenting and learning new things!. Something will resonate with you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Lol!. yea that's how all artist feel!. Imma artist too!. I draw paint sculpt write poems!. I went to school for graphic design too but im majoring in web design now but a lot of the projects i do now is mainly graphic design because Ive been told that im better at that than anything!. I'm never really content with my work either but ppl are always impressed and seem to enjoy it!. I think that's the thing though, we're designing for other ppl and as long as they like it then that's like the ultimate self esteem booster!. Just keep picking at your work and try to make it better if u dont feel like its at its greatest or have other ppl comment on it and ask them how can u change it to better it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
