Depends on the shutter speed!. Typically fractions of a second (1/125th is a commonly-used speed)!. Landscape photographers can use exposures of up to 10 seconds to get particular effects!. Long exposures of the night sky can last for minutes; but these are very much the exception!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In a technical sense, David and Viking have given you the answer!. But some photos are said to be timeless in an emotional or visual sense!. A good example would be an Ansel Adams photo in Yosemite or the Grand Tetons - they would represent thousands of years!. An autumn scene could be said to represent a season or a part of the cycle of life - you get the point!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

With my Nikon FE2 camera that can vary from as long as I hold the shutter open in the B (bulb) setting to 1/4000th of a second!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
