For a still life I look for shapes and colors that challenge me and various directions of the lighting!. For landscapes, I look for color or a scene that really strikes me!. Sometimes I have a photograph taken of something I want to paint later!. I also like to paint "fractured fairytale" type subjects but they can be a little harder!. Many artists do a white study to become familiar with the different whites and greys!. I did a black study using different black objects and a very dark background!. I put a small red object like a strawberry (just one) in the foreground!. It is amazing the different colors of black there are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I find my inspiration comes from spending lots of time in hospitals!. which I find very dull and dreary places in england anyway!. So I work with large abstract colours to lift the environment and mood of the patients!. I also do this for private commissions!. I recently had a referal from Reiki healer who told the patient they needed more Red in their lives so I did 7 painings using primarily red!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Pictures I see, images I have in my head!.!. or things I see in my dreams!. Things you love!. Even if you hear quotes, imagine what a painting would look like if it had to represent that quote!. :) You should paint a native person and and eagle!. abstract!. haha!. whatever you want!.Www@QuestionHome@Com everyday life inspires me!.
