Question: What is this drawing tool!?
I've recently taken up an interest in drawing, so my mom bought me a sketchpad and a set of drawing supplies!. There's one thing in the set and I have no clue what it is!. Here's a picture - I circled the thing:

http:// tinypic!. com/view!.php!?pic=2885yrp&s=5
(you have to erase the space between http:// and tinypic
and the space between tinypic!. and com - for some reason, it wont let me post the link)

What is it called!? What is it for!? What does it do!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

its for sharpening the tips of your charcoal mainly :) you can use it to sharpen your pencil tip too so you dont need to use a sharpener to make it shorter haha !.!.!. just rub the tip on the sandpaper to get your desired tipWww@QuestionHome@Com

I've always know this as a sharpening block!. Used to sharpen the tip of pencils and charcoal sticks!. I have a special drafting pencil sharpener that only trims down the wood, leaving the graphite shaft exposed, long and cylindrical!. I can then sharpen the graphite as it is used and dulled!. It actually wastes a lot less lead and the pencils last longer and, with proper use, keeps a VERY sharp point for making fine lines!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
