I'm seriously thinking about it!. I just wonder how much they make!? Do they work from home!? also what is the job market like for them!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The majority of graphic designers do not make huge amounts of money, a comfortable salary certainly!. However, now is not a good time to look for work, clients everywhere are cutting back on budgets, redundancies are forecast for the design arena, competition for jobs is fierce!. Although you could work from home that is rare, generally you would have gained some studio practice before being in a position to generate enough freelance work to be able to work from home!.

I don't want to put you off, it can be a good life, enjoying your work, work hard, learn all you can about production processes and you might make it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think graphic design is the sort of career where, going to school for it, will help you much in getting a job!. I've heard it depends more on portfolio!? But, I think it's the kinda market where you gotta freelance around, accepting widely differing pays!.!.!. I don't think there's really year salary jobs, if you're just starting out at least!. If you have good enough reputation or something, over time and when your skills are good, maybe some company will put you on their list!.!.!. but, all in all I think being a graphic designer isn't a stable job!. I hear, sometimes people like to hire the fresh meat from college, over the more skilled and experienced artist, because of the "fresh take" they have on things (originality and such), and also cuz they rate for cheaper!.!.!. So I think, you should take whatever job that comes your way, and build contacts that way!. You don't really plan things out, in graphic design!.!.!.!?

I think some work from home when they can, but maybe they also need to work in the employers studio, to collaborate with the rest maybe!. Dunno!.

Anyway, going back to school seems like a good prospect!.!.!. though you may be strapped for cash, maybe it's a good experience!.!.!. but if you want, I suggest you go to the library and check out some books on graphic design and photoshop and stuff!. also other books, any art book, dealing with design!.!.!. for example, books on shoes, on heraldry shields, on tattoos, make-up!.!.!. you maybe won't really need the info!. for the job, but I think part of what makes for so-called creativity and originality and what not, is to have a big resource!.!.!. of the mind!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you should!. Graphic Design is a high paying job, depending where you live!.

You should go back to school, make something, make money!.
