here's a tip if you have some money

1) find a place where you can do life drawing, it usually costs around $5-10 depending where you decide to take it
2) taking an art class!? (well to be honest, I don't think art class helps that much in your drawing skills unless your a really lazy person who needs to be motivated to draw)

if you don't have money (like me :D)

1) find a family member or a friend or a pet to sketch 15 mins in a variety of poses ( make sure it's quick sketching, doesn't have to be perfect, it's just to train you) *do this everyday or every second day
2) practice still life drawing, find some objects around the house (whether it's a deck of cards, shoes, fruit, flowers, candles)
3) practice a variety of angles to draw in!. if your drawing buildings, try to draw in different angles (bird's eye view, middle shot, close up, etc!.!.!.)
4) go to a local coffee shop and sketch people (this may sound funny!.!.!. but it teaches you to sketch fast, don't pay attention to any details, just draw their movements (then later!.!.!. way later till your good at drawing movements get into detail
5) if you have facebook, drawing on your friend's graffiti will really help you out :)

*always have the following*

- your sketch book!. it is your life
- your pencils and pens
- any kind of media that you would like to use (paint, clay, pencil crayons, watercolours, etc!.!.!.)
- keep to one goal and build up later on!.!.!. For example, if you want to draw people better, do you want to start off with drawing peoples faces well!? or their movements!? or even their hands!?
- what kind of style do I want to have!? (realistic, impressions, cartoons) **stick to one goal, then build up

Artists Magazine is a great one-every month has a review of an artist with an example of their work and how its created, step-by-step!. You can find it in book stores like Barnes-n-Noble!. Cheap Joe's Art Stuff is good for supplies-they have a site and catalog!. also their site has how-to sections!. How-to books are good too, esp the soft bound ones that are like magazines!. Take the info, do the practice then make it your own!. Its like music-practice makes perfect!. Buy a pad of tracing paper-trace a basic outline (lightly) and then add in the details-thats a good piece of homework!. You can do shading or use cross hatching with your pencil to add details!. Sharpie pens are great-because they are permanent you can draw a sketch lightly in pencil, detail it in sharpie and go back and watercolor it with no smearing-even using posterboard for example!. OPractice, practice practice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

go to the library and go to the drawing section and art section!. Not sure the kind of art you want to draw but there are specific books for specific types of art styles (realistic, human portraits, comic, manga, etc)

I!.E!. Manga- take a manga drawing online and try to draw it, then study it bit by bit and see okay why doesn't my pic look like this!? Are my lines straight like this or curved like this, is everything equal, are the eyes equal or one eye's bigger than the other, how about the line,
should my line be darker, could they have used ink instead of pencil, etc!. Repetition/practice is the key and analysis!.

go to youtube!.com type "draw ________" and something might pop up
also art classes or community classes are a recommend!.

google "deviantart!.com drawing tutorials"Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't have a link, but here are some good points to remember:
-Practice on a daily basis!. Just draw something that inspires you!.
-Draw in all different styles; from realistic to abstract
-Use different mediums!. Instead of pencils, try making a picture with jelly or organic materials, like mud!. I know, it's gross, but it's still fun!.
-Express yourself in your art!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, you can't be a drawer--that's what you put clothes in!

Aside from that, get ahold of the books, "Drawing on the right side of the Brain" and "Drawing on the artist within", both by Betty Edwards!. My copies are from 1979 and 1986, but I have seen updated copies in bookstores!.

Both of these books helped get me into art school!. Once in awhile I go back and reread them as a refresher course!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What I used o do, is I would start off with learn to draw books!. After that I got a little bored, so I would go to the computer find a picture of my favorite person, and trace it!. When I started getting better at that, I started drawing my own!. You know instead of tracing!. Or you can always go to art school!. Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
