How do I 'balance' out a painting to make it more aesthetic!?

There are several aspects that will be balanced in a painting!. Color, by making sure you have a little tiny bit of a dominant color on the opposite side of the canvas!.

Value by making sure your lights and darks form a pleasing composition!.

Emphasis, by making sure you do not have all your focus and details in one area, leaving the others with no interest or lacking in support for the remainder of the painting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think some part of the process of balancing a painting is the knowledge to know and to study about the principles of composition of forms, shapes and colors,how more you study about the golden rules of composition ,the qualities of the basic forms and colors and shapes you will get stronger to create better balanced painting!.

Look at this link!. Mondrian is very good with ballance!. In a class we did works inspired by him to work with ballance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on the subject matter, but I'd say don't do it!. I like off-balance, asymmetrical!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
