With a Sharpie it will always be a smooth dark, very pigmented color!. With knockoffs, say, a store brand, i!.e!., staples, et cetera, it a lot of times will be dried out!. I am writing names on X-Mas presents for the kids now and some markers are smearing on the labels, had to dig out my Sharpie and perfect every time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I used to use traditional drawing pens and mechanical pens such as Rapidograph for my black and white ink drawings!. While I considered myself pretty good at their use, I eventually settled on ordinary Sharpie markers for virtually all this type of work!.

The two sizes I used, "fine and ultra fine" are versatile and the nibs flexible enough for a variety of line thicknesses!. The ink is very black, dries quickly and is very durable and permanent!.

But the biggest advantage is that I don't need to go to some specialty art supply source to get replacements or ink refills!. I know, that if I am out in the field doing some sketching, I can find replacement Sharpies at virtually ANY grocery market, convience or liquor store and bait shop anywhere in the nation!.

And, fairly cheap!. If I let one or two sit too long in my desk and it dries out, I'n not out a whole lot of money!.

It's not that other markers are bad, or, somehow lacking!. It's just that Sharpies have a lot of advantages for me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i would also say sharpie because 1 they dont smudge and stuff 2 i find that there are no colour streaks like with regular markers i hate it when there are streaks >:P and 3 they come in ALOT of coloursWww@QuestionHome@Com

Cuz they're permanent, lol!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
