Question: How do I keep my hand oils off my kneaded eraser!?
I've been working with charcoal for a while now, and I've recently discovered that the oil from my hands gets into my kneaded eraser and onto my drawing when I use it, leaving ugly smears!. Aside from wearing cotton gloves or something while I draw, how else can I keep this from happening!? Can you "clean" oil out of a kneaded eraser!? (Yes, I wash my hands before I draw!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

You answered your own question, washing your hands and maybe wearing surgical gloves!. Always try to stay as clean as possible!. Kneaded erases are designed to knead, if you have to knead the oil in the eraser, then knead it!. I have excessively oily hands too!. A light pressure on the pencil and not touching the paper as much as possible could work too!. Hum!? Good question too!. Merry Christmas!
