What would you suggest an aspiring photojournalist do at the age of seventeen?

Question: What would you suggest an aspiring photojournalist do at the age of seventeen!?

I am a seventeen year old girl who has been dreaming of becoming the next Margaret Bourke-White!. I am curious, from people who are out there, what do you suggest!? (school suggestions, summer internships, jobs after college!.!. etc)

I have been going to a half art school since throughout high school & I plan on majoring in photojournalism & double minoring in language & archeology!.

You can work for your schools newspaper and yearbook as a staff photographer !.!. you are going to want to save your tearsheets!. Once you get into college, use the tearsheets to get a job with the school newspaper and join as a student member of both ASMP and NPPA and network with the working pros in your area!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
