i completely finished a piece that was to be used as a business holiday card!. they decided not to use it, but will pay me a kill fee!. what is typical for this situation!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on your contract with them!. If you did not have a contract, or did not address this possibility, then you may have to negotiate to get paid for the work you have done!.

Apparently 50-100% of the agreed price is not unusual when a completed piece is rejected!. However, you should retain the work and the copyright in any case!. A contract spelling this out is recommended!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
