Don't listen to the homophobes!. Andy Warhol is one of the most important artists active in the last 50, 60 years and probably the last 100-150 years (It was a good century for important artists too)!. He blasted open the doors for what's considered appropriate for artistic subject matter, posed important questions for who exactly mass media imagery belongs to, broke down the door between fine, commercial, and lowbrow art, made art once again accessible to the common public, and nurtured many artists and musicians (Velvet Underground anyone!?)!. In my opinion, I also like how he returned the role of artist back to the traditional tradesman and master of a studio of less experienced artists!.
In short, many people said he represented the death of art but, you'd be hard pressed to find a currently working artist not influenced by Andy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
