They were both Spanish!.
They were both incredibly talented and that was evident for both at a very young age!. (Dali was one of the founders of surrealism; for Picasso it was cubism but he also produced art in many other styles!. Both had complete command of their media!.)
There was absolutely NO love lost between the two of them!. Picasso was very political, hated Franco, was quite vocal about it and left Spain because of the dictator!. (Check out his painting "Guernica"!.) Dali, who may -- or may not -- have been truly crazy, stayed in Spain during Franco's regime!. Picasso supposedly loathed him!.
