cause i prefer my prints from my inkjet to fade to nothing after a short period of time - not

you know i say something i dont mean then at the end i say not - we all laugh and smile to ourselfs (or someone else in the room if possible)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Important personal pictures are ones that I would want to share with my children, great-grand children!.!.!.

So, I would need dozens of copies of each image, and assurance that they would all be stored in ideal conditions!.

Better is to teach my kids to use external hard drives, and always back up their data!. Then I would give them electronic versions of the images!.

The knowledge of safe data storage is a good skill for anyone to have, whereas knowledge about archiving of photographic material is too specific to be of value to most people!.

Raw files may become unreadable - DNG might be a better format!. Do you think Jpegs will become unreadable, i!.e!., obsolete!?

For the price of one or two custom prints in metal, you could buy a hard drive and store thousands of images!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Honestly, it depends on what you want to create and why!. If there is a reason why to do it (Because you want the shine of the metal in the photograph, so the viewer would see himself inside the image for example), I would choose a material that has a low oxidation level!. The reason why not to do it, it is because is too expensive and if you screw it with the liquid emulsion it is going to be a pain in the a** to remove it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

why wouldn't i!?!? well that is simple!.!.!. to save money!.!.!. lol!.!. the only reason i would do this if it is something i would want to show for a lifetime, instead of being stuck in a box and sold at a yard sale when i am dead!.!.!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
