Question: The Canon Rebel XSI, Lens question!!!?
Well, I'm getting a Canon Rebel XSI for a really great price!. The problem is, it only includes the body, not the lenses!.
So I was searching for a nice lens that I can use for my amateur photography!.

How do these lenses look, and are they good for photography!?

Do you really expect to be able to buy two 'nice' zoom lenses for the grand old sum of $159!.95!? I don't think so!.
Buying ultra cheap zoom lenses is a complete waste of money, because if they deliver poor image quality, what's the point!?

Buying a good lens (which doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg) is the more sensible approach!.

If image quality is important to you (and it should be, because that's why you bought a dSLR, right!?), then you should buy a more capable lens!.

For less than US$90 you can buy the Canon EF 50mm f/1!.8!. This lens is ultra cheap and plasticky and doesn't zoom (it's a prime) but it sure does have great image quality!. I recommend you buy this lens first and foremost!. And once you have completely mastered your camera!.!.!.then go out and buy a 'nice' zoom lens!. Just don't skimp on the quality!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They will probably be fine :) This company IS after all making and selling camera lenses!. I don't think they are saying, UM OK!.!.!.LETS make a bunch of crap !!!!

These lenses don't have probably some of the features available in a 600 dollars lens!.!.!.such as image stabilization!.!.!.Guess what!.!.!.buy a monopod or tripod for 50 bucks!.!.!.just like people did BEFORE image stabilization was invented!. Certainly image stabilization and tripod use is only needed in certain circumstances anyway!.!.!.like high speed photography or low light photography!.!.!.its good to have at LEAST a monopod anyway!.

These lenses aren't probably as high end as a professional canon name brand lens, but certainly these are not "dave's lenses" made by a guy gluing them together in his garage!.!.!.Tamron is a pretty big company!.

Start with these lenses, and if you get more into photography and decide you need higher end stuff, you can always buy it later!.

The 75-300 mm zoom will be excellent for long range stuff, because on an XSI, the conversion factor is something like 1!.6!.!.!.so a 75-300 mm is just over 100mm to about 450mm in reality!.

Let me get this right!.

You spent something in the neighborhood of $550 on a camera body, but are unwilling to spend the money necessary to utilize all its fine features!.

If nothing else, you deserve to at least use some good used Canon glass!.

Look for some good used lenses on craigslist in a city near you!. You can hold them in your hands and test them on your camera before you buy !.!.!. You don't have to worry about buying someone else's junk !.!.!. one of the features found on eBay from time to time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

None of those!. Do yourself a big favor and use Canon glass!.

I would suggest a 16-35mm F/2!.8 and a 50mm F/1!.8 to start out!.

Addendum:

The 50mm F/1!.8 is only $100!. One of the best values in the photo industry!. The design costs and patents were payed off years ago!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
