What size frame should i use for a 10x13 and also an 8x10 and 5x7!? photo!? I want it to look nice and have a mat in it, so the frames should be larger!. anyone know what sizes they generally come in!? cause i will need quite a few to do all family photos for a wall project!. I want all of the frames to match ( i did it today with the frames i have here at home, they are all different, and it looks horrible!!.!.!.)so i will be buying frames soon!. thank you so much for your help! Believe it or not, I have seen 16x20 frames with a 10x13 mat in Walmart! If you don't want "Walmart quality," buy a nicer 16x20 frame and have a mat cut if you can't find one that is suitable!.
I like to add 2-to-3 inches for the mat on each side, but that works out pretty much as Steve described, unnless you want to start cutting mats yourself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Most all ready made mats come cut for the next larger size photo!. In other words, a mat for an 8 x 10 photo will be made to fit into an 11 x 14 frame!. The mat for a 5 x 7 photo will be made to fit into an 8 x 10 frame!. The 10 x 13 size is not a "normal" size and will require you to go to a custom frame shop to get a mat cut for it!. I recommend you get a mat that will fit into an 11 x 14 frame, otherwise you will have to purchase a custom frame, and that is EXPENSIVE!.
Hobby Lobby has a good supply of matching frames in various sizes!. also precut mats!.
