I thought you were giving the finger in your avatar but then realized you were holding a camera!.

Freestyle offers 50 packs of HP5+ for 169!.99!.!.!.doesn't quite make it!. $3!.38

They also offer Arista for $1!.99 a roll!. Well under your criteria:

Last but not least you could look into investing in a bulk loader, cassettes and 100' foot rolls of film though!. Not sure you could beat $1!.99 a roll!. You'll have to do some calculating!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The best thing to do is to buy long rolls, and spool them yourself into cassettes!. You'll spend $10 or less for a loader for this purpose if you buy it used, and under $1 each for cassettes that can be reused several times!.

Once you have the bulk loader and the cassettes, you can buy film!. Most long-roll film comes in 100 foot rolls, which will give you about 18 36-exposure rolls!. Depending on what type of film you buy, a 100 foot roll of ISO 400 B&W film will run from about $20 for one of the off-brand films from Italy, etc, to as much as $50 for a roll of Kodak Tri-X!.

In any case, the per-roll cost for Tri-X bought this way is about $3 a roll, including the cassette, as long as you reuse the cassette a couple of times!. This is a significant savings compared to paying $5-6 for a cut/finished/retail packaged roll of 36-exposure Tri-X!. So, if you're shooting a lot of film, you can save a lot of money this way!. 35mm film really originated from movie film!. Maybe your class should look into getting a bulk film loader!. It used to be possible to buy these big reels of film, hundreds of feet, and reload your own 35m cartridges very cheaply!.

But if it's just you, then maybe eBay!. I'm not sure if Costco or Walmart still carry black-and-white film, there has to be mass demand!.

If could be that your photography class needs to make the transition to digital cameras soon!. Film can only decline in the years to come!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have not found a place to do this yet!. B-H has 20 and 50 packs of various films, including different brands of black and white ISO 400, but the pack price is exactly the same as the individual roll price multiplied out!. Makes no sense to me, but the price is not reduced by even one cent when you buy the multi roll packs!. So you are probably just stuck with paying the single roll price, no matter how many rolls you buy!.
