Question: Should I laminate my paper picture if I want it framed!?
I have a picture on an art paper ( is a kind of normal paper, just thicker) and I want it framed!.
From what I was told, this paper picture must be laminated before framed so as to prevent the sticking of paper on the glass!.

But I checked Wikipedia and it said they will prevent this by lifting up the glass and left no direct contact with the paper, so it means I don't have to deliberately have my paper laminated before framing!.

So, which one is true!? Is there any benefits if I laminate it before have it framed!?

Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lamination destroys the value of an art work and it can not be restored!. Proper framing with a mat not only outlines the piece, concealing any flaws on the edges, but holds the art back from the glass, avoiding the problem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with "Mike" on this one!.

One of the most common, and best ways to lift the glass from the paper is to have the image matted, or even double matted before framing!. This puts a couple of layers worth of cardboard separating the paper from the glass, and, makes for a more attractive display of the artwork!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
