Yes!. There is software!. Will it be enough to actually fix your picture!? Hard to say since we can't see it!.

Brightness and contrast adjustments are simple to do in many programs!.

Picassa is popular!.

Photoshop Elements is great too!.

I'm a fairly heavy CS3 user, so as a free option, I like to recommend the GIMP!.

just google 'GIMP sourceforge download'

it's open source, so it's free!.

I strongly recommend the add-on called GIMPSHOP - also free!.

If will give you an interface similar to Photoshop programs!.

now, regarding the picture itself, shooting a picture that is too dark is essentially THE cardinal sin of photography!.

The reason is that the darker the picture, the less information there is to play with!. As you make it brighter, you are multiplying information!. Making something that is dark become bright tends to multiply unpleasant visual effects (known as noise) quite a bit!. Expect a grainy result if the increase in light is significant!.

As to blur, there are several reasons for blur!.

1 - poor lens quality
2 - camera movement
3 - poor focus

All of these can be corrected, but only to a certain degree!. If the picture is really that bad, you may have to reshoot or just live with it!.

my guess is that if it's bad enough for you to write a question about it here, it's probably too bad to fix!.

In the meantime, you might be able to try some effects that make really bad image quality less of an issue!.

These are usually called 'filters'!.

You can try them in Picassa, but you could probably also try them in the GIMP or use the trial version of Photoshop Elements!. My friend uses Elements for lots of things and often pulls very respectable images from his Canon 300D!. Lots of filters!.

Try line art, brush filters, crosshatch filter and some of the other high contrast type filters!.

What probably won't work is simply adding 'sharpening' and adding lots of it!. You have to be careful with that!. Lots of todays cameras are also already adding too much sharpening, so you lose realism very, very quickly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you can try google's picasa!.!. :) it's easy and you have the option of manually manipulating the light and shadows, or you can have the program auto-correct it for you!.!. you can also add some cool effects!.!. ^__^Www@QuestionHome@Com

Brighter can be done with any photo editing program, even the free and easy Irfanview!.com!. You can do a BIT of sharpening, but in general, blurry stays blurry!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

use photoshop!. :DWww@QuestionHome@Com
