Where can I find CHEAP studio lighting?

Question: Where can I find CHEAP studio lighting!?

I found 1 on ebay( http://cgi!.ebay!.com/ws/eBayISAPI!.dll!?Vie!.!.!. ) but it doesn't have a backdrop stand!. And then I found another one ( http://cgi!.ebay!.com/Photo-Studio-Kit-Lig!.!.!. ) that comes WITH the stands!. Which I think thats a better deal!. But on a budget, is that the best way to go or is there a cheaper way!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ok, a few things!. How are you intending to use these lights!? Are you wanting just something very basic for personal use and maybe a friend photo once in a while!? If so, then the second set will just get you by!. Note, the bulbs are only 30w, which in that design is more output than a typical tungsten light, but, that is still rather low light output!. You will have to use a large aperture on your camera, possibly have to use a tripod, plus your subject will have to be STILL!. If you are wanting these lights to photo active children or pets, they will not work for you!. Your photos will be nothing but blurr as these lights will not freeze action, and with the large aperture, you will have a very shallow depth of field!.

That brings up another issue!. What lens are you using!? You NEVER want to shoot a portrait with a wide angle lens!. If you are only using a kit lens, you need to zoom it to at least 80mm!. When you do that, your aperture will probably close up and further reduce the light reaching your sensor / film, requiring an even slower shutter speed!.

If you are even in the far reaches of the back of your mind considering using these lights for ANY type of professional work, FORGET IT!. They will never hold up, they do not have enough power, and your clients will never stop laughing at you when they see them!.

Here is something to remember!. Just like a camera, GOOD studio lights are NOT cheap!. CHEAP studio lights are seldom good!.
