Question: Question about a photograph!?

I've recently found an old photograph (circa 1995) and there is an unknown sticky substance on it!.!. What is the best way of removing the sticky-ness without ruining the photo!?
I accidently scratched it and it took off some of the gloss with it!.

try using rubbing alcohol!. that will not ruin the photo!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Before you damage it any further, scan it at a high resolution, then fix it via image editor (i!.e!. Photoshop or the like)!.
