I have the Canon 8800f which I don't mind!. I have found that the focus point is directly on the glass as opposed to slightly above!. This means that I get best results with my negs taped to the glass rather than the film holder!. This is naturally where you would tape an 8x10!.

I have found that the driver for the Canon has limitations with file sizes!. So a really large 48 bit tiff may crash your pc!. these files could be upwards of 1 gig!. I use Vuescan software!. This scanner however cannot resolve anywhere the detali that is contained in the 6x6 negs!. i just use it for 'contact sheets' but for quality work, I use drum scans!. I suspect this would be the case with all desktop flatbeds!. I may be wrong!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
