"Fabrication" is just another way to say "create", and that's what artists do - create art!. So yes, a digital manipulation, or fabrication can be art if the viewer is moved enough by it!. I don't care for that particular image, personally!. But someone went to a lot of effort to create it, so kudos for that!. I have a lot of appreciation for digital art!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's interesting but not terribly impressive!. I don't mind what you are calling "digital fabrication" (the piece is under the category "conceptual and abstract")!. But it's not impressive because the butterflies are all exactly the same!. He added a bunch of them, by duplicating and rotating!. But he did nothing else to them!. There's no shading, there's no altering the wings at all, there's no darkening as you would expect when you have a bunch of objects piled together!. So while the overall image is interesting, it's really not all that well done!.

Now if you want to see some really impressive Photoshop art, go to www!.bertmonroy!.com/ Bert Monroy is a master of Photoshop art, and he also has a wonderful video podcast you can subscribe to at http://www!.revision3!.com/pixelperfect!.

I don't work for him or anything, but I think his work is incredible!. Enjoy!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is very creative and artistic!. Yes it is a fabrication but thats what makes it art!. If it were not a fabrication then it would be called magic, or a miracle!. It catches the eye, drawing in the prospective consumer to look more clearly and say in wonder, 'wow'!. Though I dont understand the connection between the butterflies and the drink, im not sure that that matters in a still photo advertisement!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Since it is obviously a fabrication, it shouldn't be a problem, but I would question the quality, since the butterfly images are obviously all the same image when the strong lighting on the can would call for some careful addition of shadows, which would be more artistic and detailed and mind bending!. You need to add shading to the butterflies in the glass, and possibly a reflection of white across the yellow of their wings (inside the glass) to make it look more real!.

Don't make the shadow too dark or you'll defeat the purpose!. Aside of that, this is a excellent idea!.

Note: in my opinion the butterflies should be either a) the color of red-bull or b) red and blue (from the logo)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would appreciate this as art becausee my understanding of art is "the production of something beautiful and appealing"
which that piece of photography is to me!.

and also im nt very creative so im awed by people who are because i cant relate to how they produced their works of art!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nope!. Not art but just another ad campaign to make people think they are getting "wiiiings" when in reality all they are getting is massive doses of caffeine and other un-healthy additives!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's photo manipulation
