What does he mean by Developmental!? And compositional as well later on!? Please help!?!Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: OBSERVATIONAL - means to observe - to look - to look and draw what you see!. There are different ways of doing this such as drawing with the wrong hand, drawing a continous line without taking your pencil off the page, drawing with one eye closed etc,drawing with a found object with inki!.e a twig or rock!. This is observing, looking and recording your subject!. DEVELOPMENTAL - means to develop - to take what you have looked at (observed) and try to emphasize some part of what you have looked at stronger!. Questions to help you do this could be ; Is it colour that I liked in my subject!? What type of study have I done!? Is there a pattern in what I have drawn!? etc etc!. A simple way of developing something is to enlarge a section and zoom into a certain part!. COMPOSITIONAL - means how the final image looks on paper!. Research this on googleor buy a book on visual composition or design!. Basically, things work in thirds,so try and put something of interest, a focalpoint, for instance a boat in a river landscape in the third part of the canvas!.Never put anything in the middle as the human mind and eye does not like this!. At first all these terms and ideasmight sound scary but allow yourself to have fun!. Understanding these words and ideas is a bit like learning an new language!.
