Question: What would you suggest I price these paintings at!?
I posted my acrylic on canvas paintings to yessy!.com after spending a lot of time scanning the website for comparable sized paintings, with the same type of medium (acrylic) and similar sizes ( a couple 48 x 24 inches, several 20x16 inches, ect)

I only paintings that were listed as "sold" so that I would know what people actually had success with!.

Anyways, I am on day two of my free 2 week trial!.!.!.!. and while I have had one offer on the painting called "Happy," a 48 x 24 inch for $1000, I haven't heard back from him since yesterday and I'm worried because I felt really excited, maybe for nothing!. BUT, if I do hear back from him soon, that will absolutely make my day- my year!.!.!.!.!

Anyways, I think that I might lower my prices after the first week of my 2 week free trial!. I thought I'd shoot just because, well, why not!?

But, if I do end up needing to lower the prices, what would you suggest!? Take a look and let me know!. The sizes are posted, and they are all on the acrylic and canvas!. No frames needed!. Ect!.

I don't want to undersell, but I do want to try to get my stuff out there!. I don't want to seem too cheap compared to the other paintings I've looked at!

Thanks in advance :)

also, like I mentioned in another post- be honest! If you say $1, I might secretly cry, but that is your opinion to have ; )Www@QuestionHome@Com

It looks like you researched realistically and considered all relevent factors, but looking at your work I would only say that many of your $200!. works are priced way too low!.Your work in my opinion is Outstanding!.WOW!.I'm trying to loosen up like this myself and haven't gotten there yet!.Pricing is so objective and is based on exposure, reputation and sad to say, politics!.Don't sell yourself short!.You have too much talent!.Be patient and paint, paint, paint!.Try not to laugh at those who think what you do is easy and fast!.They don't understand colour juxtaposition, composition, negative space, perspective !.etc etc!.Now I'm ranting!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

hi girl! i liked your work very much,my brother also paints! i think you need to get your feet wet and so why not price "happy" at $800!.00!.and my favorite at $650!.00 ,babana split!. where i like several of the others start at $300!.00 and spread them down to $225!.00,your picks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey I love your work and if I had the money I'd be happy to buy some!. Don't see why you wouldn't be successful! Best wishes!

Why have you priced them so high!? I could paint a painting like that in under an hourWww@QuestionHome@Com

i'd say at that skill level price them no more than 100Www@QuestionHome@Com

Rachel, a couple things: First, the paintings are decent!. They're a little bit academic in terms of abstraction, but I've seen lots worse!. Secondly, they're all sized wrong!. When listing the scale of original artwork, it is ALWAYS vertical measurement followed by horizontal!. You have it reversed!. This is a standard, and is followed by every museum, catalog and professional art gallery in the world!.
Lastly, try lowering the prices by about 20-25% and start there!. Remember, it is easier to start low and increase prices as you begin to sell work, but if you start too high, it is VERY painful to lower prices and might make past clients rather unhappy!. Start low, work your way up, and only increase prices when work is selling!. Otherwise, leave it alone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Damn Rachel, it looks like you threw paint onto canvases, used the bottom of painted cans to make circles, posted those on there, and then used random shades to make the paintings more abstract!.
The only painting I even like, or consider good, is your Duck one, but I wouldn't pay 350!.00 for it, even if I had a million dollars!.
Sorry to bust your bubble! Lower your prices significantly!.
It probably took you 30 minutes to paint each of those, where as the following probably spent days on their work!.
