Question: Hi i have always been fascinated by Aboriginal art so i thought id have a try myself!?

i have done this on the computer not by paint and also i have not edited it!. it has took me about a month to do!. i personally don't think its great but is ok seen as its my first try!. what do you think

You must be talking about Australian aboriginal art!.Take a look at Canadian or North American aboriginal art in general,and for that matter look at African and all over the world!.
Picasso was influenced by African masks and Gaugin was influenced by Polynesian art!.
I agree that unless you are of aboriginal origin,you may say that you are inspired by aboriginal art,but not actually doing it!.
As for your example,I thing it's wonderful and you should continue to draw inspiration from this and many other sources!.

not bad!. i would work on creating your own personal style that resembles but is not the same as aboriginal art, as a lot of times with indigenous art, there are feet that can be stepped on if you try to mimic their types of art!. i think you have made a good start towards just what i am saying, something unique to yourself but for which you can say, 'i was inspired by aborgine art'!. if that is what inspires you it is also a good idea to get to know it as well as possible!. but remember, make it your own!. You know, I think its pretty good!. However, it is not "aboriginal" unless you are an aborigine!. In fact, since it was done on the computer, I wouldn't even call it "primitive" or "folk" art!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
