I cannot answer that question, the results might be reprehensible, too ghastly to imagine, The world cannot deal with another free thinker, The world will implode and we will be forced into cannibalism!.
( for the sake of honesty, My neice needed "help" once I had explained the funadamentals of lens distortion and depth of field , the desperate blank expression on her face forced me to shoot the whole project on her behalf, I felt really guilty but quite amazed at the grade "I" was given!.
So!.!.!. Yep! guilty as charged!.
However, as for asking homework questions on Y/A I would be seriously worried about some of the answers I'd recieve!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

lions and tigers and bears, oh my! the photography and graphic design and other art students that ask questions on y!.a!. instead of thinking for themselves and paying attention in class, and god forbid actually read the subject matter in the book they got at the beginning of the class!. this action would cause the entire economic system to collapse and the world would go in to recession and the moon would blow up and all kinds of scarey things would happen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, they might actually learn something!.

I think that "these kids today" think that they actually ARE "using the internet" to "research" their topic when they ask a question here!. They don't know how to look something up here any more than they know how to look up a word in the dictionary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not just photography and homework!. Stupid questions are endemic on Y!A!. Things (somewhat paraphrased) like:

'Does Canon have an 800 number !.!.!.'

'How can I find information on Julius Cesear!? We're having a test tommorrow !.!.!.'

'There is this photographer that took a picture of a mother and baby!. Where can I find a copy of it!?'

'I'm a pro and need to get a really good flash!. What should I get!?' (and all the other pro questions)

'What does this picture mean!?'

I'm expecting to see a question like 'I live in such and such a town!. My teacher wants us to go to the library and look up something!. Does anyone know if we have a library and where it is!?'

Rant over!. To answer your question, they may turn out to be photographers!. Some of them, anyway!. Annafur is an example!. I can see her becoming an outstanding photographer against any standard in the future!. She's pretty damn good now!. She's also working at it and towards it!.

Sam may be absolutely on point - asking questions here is doing their homework and they don't know how to research anything!.

RANT ON:

This is a current question:

"ok I have this report due in like 1 week and I really need to know what the straight photography movement is and why it's important !? Does any one have in information towards this topic I looked every where and I didn't find any thing on it!. If you could give me so search engine websites other than google and ask!. com that would even help me!. Thank you so much all of your answers are appreciated! :)"

This person found information on Google and Ask!. It would be impossible not to!. What they didn't find was a single source answer!. I'm beginning to suspect that it's not merely a problem with being lazy, but maybe they don't know how to synthesize and formulate an answer!. If that's true, we're in trouble!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not only on the photgraphy board that people expect others to do their homework!. Asking stupid questions seems to be endemic on Y!A!. There is, in fact, a long thread on the subject on the Classical Music board (http://uk!.answers!.yahoo!.com/question/ind!.!.!.

I've just answered a question on History which asked for websites about Flavius Josephus!. I pointed out that the asker could have saved time and space by typing the words him/her self into a search engine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lol nice question Perki !. I'm taking photography right now and so far the homework has not been too hard and if i do ask a homework question i'll probably write out my answers just to make sure that they are at least right instead of asking peoples right away !.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They would probably die of shame!. Everyone knows you can't learn photography without Yahoo answers!. I mean the camera was invented by Yahoo after all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They may actually end up becoming a "real" photographer, as opposed to someone who likes to make pouty self-portraits for myspace!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That student benefits from investing the time of researching, and the learned information might stay longer in that person's memory!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
