Question: Have a question about resin casting!.!.!?
I bought plastic casting resin, but then the catalyst I bought (the only one they had) says "for use with polyester resin only!." now, they are both by castin' craft, so they should be able to use together, right!?!.!.!.!.I just don't want to make something and have it now work!. is there a difference between plastic and polyester resin!?

thanks so much!

There is a difference, and I wouldn't try it!. Resins cure at different temperatures and hardness’s, different set up times and different opacities!. At best, it might just not cure or cure very sticky or never really harden!. At worst, you might have a chemical reaction like bleach and ammonia!. (Very toxic)

castin' craft makes several different resins all designed for different purposes!. Casting resin is tricky at best, even when everything goes right!.

Resins can get very hot, and if you don’t know what you’re doing with them, you can get burned or even burn your up lungs!. Don’t mix the two!.

For your own safety, Please don’t do this!. I’ve seen lots of “resin experiments” go wrong when I was in art school
